LAB1663.NET - Sam’s bit o’ the web

Occasionally, one of my posts with political content will develop into a discussion between myself and several of you about the topic at hand.  I really enjoy it when this happens and I think you guys do as well.

In order to better facilitate that discussion, as well as to provide a centralized place for my merry band of politically-minded friends (some of whom are now scattered across the globe) to reenact virtually the late-night political discussions that we used to enjoy so much, I’ve created a small message board for such discussions to take place.

Here’s how it’ll work - everyday posts will continue to be able to be commented upon in traditional blog fashion, just like it’s worked up to this point.  Political, religious, philosophical or historical posts however, will instead have comments closed and a link at the bottom of the post to a thread on the new message board.  The new thread will contain the text of the post in the first post of the thread and then people can discuss the topic on a message board instead of blog comments - that way it’s easier to link to cited sources and the other sorts of functionality that a message board brings over simple comments.

Also, I would encourage all of you to feel free to post your own topics for discussion in the message board.  If you keep a blog on which you post similar editorial content, feel free to do just as I’m doing - create a thread on the new message board with the text of your blog post and then we can discuss things in a centralized place.

So that’s that!  Welcome to the online version of our old roundtable discussions.  A little less bourbon, maybe - but I hope it’s still enjoyable for all :)
